SCAN! Responds to Bill C-15
The federal budget omnibus bill contains sections that clearly undermine our democratic processes and threaten our rights and the environment. Over 40 organizations joined SCAN! in a news release sent to the media on January 21. Over 40 environmental and social justice organizations signed a statement decrying some sections of the budget omnibus bill, C-15, that are undemocratic and threaten our rights and the environment. The media release went out on January 21.
Seniors for Climate Action Now! (SCAN!), the organization that initiated this action, also sent a letter to the Prime Minister and to opposition party leaders, asking that Bill C-15 be amended to remove the problematic sections . Our Ottawa chapter leader, Joan Kuyek, is seen here hand delivering it to the PM’s office.
