Community Resilience and Resistance Campaign
Take Action with SCAN!
Join the Community Resilience and Resistance Campaign (CRRC)
It is time for Canada to step up. The government is heading in the wrong direction. We need climate action now! SCAN! members across the country are meeting regularly at their MPs’ offices, to pressure them with seven critical climate solution demands. Seniors are gathering together locally to build communities of care, form relationships, and have fun. We will build consistent, persistent, and increasing pressure. In joining local CRRC actions, you and your neighbours will build the power we require for climate action, create momentum for needed change, and form a solid community network.

Concerned about Extreme Weather?

At rallies outside the offices of Members of Parliament, SCAN! members are encouraging passersby to sign a postcard that can be sent to individual MPs. The postcard calls for protections from extreme weather and an urgent transition off oil and gas.

March 27 Common Day of Action and Beyond

Let’s keep the energy and commitment going!
On March 27, SCAN! Chapters joined in solidarity for the CRR Common Day of Action with:
- 14 riding actions
- over 130 people
- 3 new ridings: Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke (Victoria), Nipissing-Timiskaming (North Bay) and Etobicoke Lakeshore (Toronto)
- Seniors Residence Action: Christie Gardens (Toronto): over 15 SCAN! members contacted their MP
The CRR Campaign is gaining ground, but much more is needed to turn the government around to real climate action.
So far – 98 people in 35 ridings have sent a CRR letter to their MP.
This number needs to be higher to get the attention of our government.
Keep up the CRR Momentum!
Talk to your neighbours, friends, family, and passersby at CRR actions:
Share the Leaflet – Point out the QR Code – Make the Ask
- ask them to send a letter to their MP
- ask them to call their MP
Let’s triple the number of MP letters sent in the next month!
Building numbers and keeping up the pressure are crucial. It is important to keep sharing your observations and ideas for improvement to make the campaign stronger.
