David Suzuki’s Letter to the Royal Society of Canada
David Suzuki has been in the forefront of those calling for action on climate change for decades. Check out his letter, written earlier this year to the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), which is includes top scientists in the country. It was written in response to Prime Minister Trudeau’s commitment to the Baie du Nord project.
Suzuki says: “The Royal Society of Canada represents the outstanding members of the scientific community and must demand that governments elevate science above economics and politics.”
Clearly losing patience Suzuki slams the Canadian government for proceeding with the Baie du Nord project and appeals to the RSC to take a stand.
RSC Mandate – “To serve Canada and Canadians by recognizing Canada’s leading intellectuals, scholars, researchers and artists and, by mobilizing them in open discussion and debate, to advance knowledge, encourage integrated interdisciplinary understandings and address issues that are critical to Canada and Canadians.” https://rsc-src.ca/en/about/our-mandate
