Who We Are …

A few SCAN! members and active citizens who live in the Guelph area decided it was time to form a Guelph Chapter. This small group met at Harcourt Memorial Church on April 4, 2024, and the Guelph chapter was born. There is a growing network of local climate action groups. However, none was specifically tapping into the experience, knowledge, spirit, and concern of the vibrant seniors community. Initial reactions at our first community appearance included “What took you so long?” and “Can we protest?”

Stay tuned–there’s lots of enthusiasm, and no doubt great things will come out of SCAN! Guelph!

SCAN! members attended a Green Drinks event on April 11 at which four local city councillors discussed the impact of the provincial government’s latest announcements and their effect on the city’s ability to fight climate change and provide needed services to citizens.
